A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A SOCIAL WORKER Provides social work services per New York State Part 679 Regulations for Clinic participants as assigned.
May provide services to a person through his/her collateral for the purposes of enhancing the effectiveness of the treatments enabling the person to remain in the family or placement setting.
Completes timely and accurate service documentation as per clinic and agency policies and procedures to include; progress notes, evaluations, treatment plans, etc.
Notifies supervisor and caregiver of any significant events or incidents occurring during therapy.
In the event of an emergency, will notify individual's contact(s) immediately.
Provides clinical consultation to Agency programs, Quality Assurance/Training, and other social workers as required.
May provide clinical supervision and oversight to Licensed Master Social Worker(s).
May clinically support Social Work Students in completing internship programs as directed.
Maintains confidentiality regarding information regarding service recipients.
Ensures that conduct while on duty is professional and consistent with the Agency's culture, mission, values, procedures and policies.
Successfully completes required, ongoing training requirements within mandated timeframes.
Attends all required staff training sessions and team meetings.
May be assigned additional responsibilities at the discretion of the Clinic/Mental Health Administrator.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree in Social Work.
NYS Licensed Clinical Social Worker ( LCSW ) Must also possess a current valid NYS Driver's License that meets the agency driver standards.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Must be able to alternate between sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and twisting on a frequent basis throughout the day.
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
on an occasional to frequent basis.
Must be able to read, write and communicate with adults on a frequent basis.
Must possess sight and hearing within a normal range (with or without corrective devices).
May be exposed to blood borne pathogens, excessive noise, and cleaning chemicals.
May be exposed to challenging behaviors of individuals both verbal and physical.
Work Schedule:
The hours are Monday through Friday (8 a.

to 4 p.
m.
